Ability to Lock or Disable Estimate Toggle Options for Customers
Nougat Ocelot
Summary
Users need the ability to prevent customers from modifying or deselecting services on estimates using the blue toggle switches. Currently, customers can freely turn services on or off, which can lead to incorrect pricing, confusion, and operational inefficiencies.
Problem
For businesses with multi-step programs (e.g., 5-step fertilization programs), each step is listed on the estimate both for customer clarity and for scheduling efficiency. However, customers can currently toggle individual services off to reduce pricing. This creates several issues:
- Customers unintentionally or intentionally alter required program steps.
- Businesses must call customers afterward to clarify that customization isn’t actually allowed.
- Operational workflows break because toggling services off impacts scheduling.
- Creates customer confusion, reduces trust, and increases admin workload.
- Forces businesses to consider leaving Copilot despite loving other features.
Requested Enhancement
Add a Setting or Permission Control that allows businesses to:
Lock estimate line items, preventing customers from turning services off.
Optionally hide the toggle switches entirely.
Allow admins to selectively enable this per estimate/program or globally.

Lock Services on Estimates (Prevent Client Editing)

Problem: Clients can currently toggle services on/off within estimates.
Impact: For businesses selling structured programs, this breaks bundled pricing,
increases estimate revisions, and creates expectation gaps that carry into fulfillment.
Simple Solve: Add an optional setting:
“Lock services on estimate (prevent client edits)”
This keeps the platform flexible for a la carte users while enabling program-based operators to maintain pricing and delivery integrity.
High impact, minimal UX complexity, and strong alignment with the shift toward subscriptions and bundled services in home services.
Flexible estimates are great for a la carte selling — locked estimates would make Homeworks significantly stronger for program-based operators.

I agree! I currently charge a delivery fee on many of my one time projects for all of the materials. It would be great if the customer did not have the option to toggle this specific service. I just ran into this the other day.
